Greetings
We sincerely appreciate your ongoing support for FinCity.Tokyo's activities. FinCity.Tokyo (officially known as the General Incorporated Association Tokyo International Financial Organization) is pleased to announce that, as part of our efforts to realize an international financial city, we will be implementing an English-language information disclosure support initiative. This project will be carried out as part of a subsidized program by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government. Recently, emerging markets such as the Tokyo Stock Exchange Mothers market have seen many socially responsible listed companies, whose activities play a significant role in Japan's economy. However, compared to companies listed on the higher-tier Tokyo Stock Exchange First Section, these emerging market-listed companies often have limited personnel dedicated to IR and face constraints in attracting investment from overseas investors. This leads to insufficient English-language disclosure, particularly regarding ESG aspects of interest to investors. Consequently, they fall into a vicious cycle where they cannot secure the overseas investment crucial for corporate growth. To break this cycle, we believe companies need to focus on disclosure efforts based on an equity story that attracts overseas investors. This requires not only translating Japanese disclosure materials into English but also implementing effective IR that gains the understanding of overseas investors. Based on this, this project plans to provide IR support, including assistance in building equity stories, advice on creating earnings-related disclosure materials and their English translation support, and advice on communicating with overseas investors. Through these initiatives, we aim to support corporate growth not only through domestic but also foreign investment, and contribute to the realization of an international financial city by revitalizing emerging markets through increased capital inflows from overseas. We sincerely hope companies seeking to enhance their IR or increase communication with foreign investors will take advantage of this project.
