FinCity.Tokyo Global Forum: Leaders Session in New York was held (July 15, 2026)
We were delighted to host the FinCity.Tokyo Global Forum: Leaders Session in New York on July 15.

This invite-only event marked FinCity.Tokyo’s first forum in New York in nearly three years and brought together approximately 170 participants from financial institutions, asset management firms, family offices, investors, and AI-related companies based in New York.

The program opened with remarks by Laurent Depus, FinCity.Tokyo Ambassador, followed by a panel discussion featuring leaders from family offices and AI companies.
The main program was a fireside chat with Tokyo Governor KOIKE Yuriko, moderated by Yoshiko Yamaguchi, Senior Advisor to FinCity.Tokyo. The discussion covered Tokyo’s unique strengths and investment opportunities, its development as an asset management hub, talent development, startup support, and the urban infrastructure needed for the AI and GX era.

Governor Koike highlighted Tokyo’s resilience and flexibility, its English-language one-stop support for overseas asset management firms, and its efforts to promote investment in new growth sectors. She also encouraged participants to consider investing in and establishing a presence in Tokyo.

The Forum will bring together a diverse group of speakers from financial authorities, institutional investors including GPIF, the asset management industry, and financial markets to deepen discussions on the Japanese economy, asset management, and investment opportunities in Tokyo.
Through the October Forum and the Japan Weeks that follow, we will continue to showcase Tokyo’s strengths as a leading global financial center.
