Monday, April 27, and Tuesday, April 28, 2026: Session Details for SusHi Tech Tokyo 2026 (Update 1)

FinCity.Tokyo (FCT) will be exhibiting at a booth and hosting sessions at SusHi Tech Tokyo 2026, an event organized by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, serving as a hub to connect financial players from Japan and abroad.

 FCT will participate in SusHi Tech Tokyo 2026, hosted by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, as a hub connecting domestic and international financial players, featuring a booth and hosting sessions. The booth will feature emerging asset management firms (EMs) selected through FCT’s EMShowcase, as well as fintech companies invited by FCT, who will present sessions in the Investor Area.

1. Family Offices

Startup Investment Strategies by Overseas Family Offices

(3) Overview
Family offices (FOs) are organizations that manage and invest the assets of high-net-worth individuals, founding families, and clans. They are key players that make direct investments in startups from a medium- to long-term perspective. In this session, we will invite overseas FOs with expertise in Asia, North America, and other regions to introduce their investment strategies and delve into what they expect from investments in Japanese startups (SU), as well as how they communicate with their portfolio companies.

    EMs (Emerging Managers—independent asset management firms and VC/PE firms) are investment entities that leverage their teams’ expertise to specialize in specific themes or sectors, actively engaging with small- and mid-cap stocks that major firms cannot fully cover and investing in startups (SU) in growth sectors.In this session, we will invite distinctive EMs selected through FinCity.Tokyo’s EM Showcase to discuss, from an investment decision-making perspective, “What makes a company attractive to investors?” and “What kind of growth should Japanese startups aim for?” We will also deepen our understanding of dialogue with investors, with a view toward the post-IPO period.

      FinCity.Tokyo will host a pitch event featuring overseas fintech companies that it supports in establishing a Tokyo base. These companies will present their outlook and initiatives for business expansion in the Japanese market. Each company will share specific intentions regarding collaboration with Japanese startups (SU) and the creation of business opportunities, providing a platform to foster new partnerships.

      4. MoU Signing Ceremony between Luxembourg for Finance and FCT

      (3) Overview:
      A signing ceremony for a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) regarding mutual cooperation in financial promotion activities between FCT and Luxembourg for Finance (LFF) will be held. During the ceremony, both organizations will hold a fireside chat discussing SusHi Tech Tokyo, Tokyo’s financial markets, and expectations for future collaboration with FCT. By announcing this partnership between financial promotion organizations representing Tokyo and Europe, we will demonstrate a new collaborative relationship connecting startups with international financial hubs.
