Chairman’s Message

The environment surrounding international finance is changing at a dizzying pace. This includes fluctuations in Asian geopolitics, rising geopolitical risks, market volatility stemming from divergent monetary policies among major economies, the irreversible global trend toward sustainable finance, decarbonization efforts, and accelerating digitalization across all facets of society.

Turning our gaze inward, Japan possesses numerous strengths: over ¥2,400 trillion in personal financial assets; substantial domestic funding demand underpinned by a deep and diverse corporate base and projects; high urban competitiveness; political stability; a solid rule of law; stable social infrastructure; and, furthermore, world-renowned beautiful nature and diverse cultures.

We will effectively leverage these strengths to contribute to realizing our nation’s vision of becoming an “Asset Management Nation.” We will build a financial ecosystem and investment chain, respond accurately and swiftly to the turbulent global situation, and strive to enhance our city’s international competitiveness.

To achieve this, it is paramount that as many people as possible understand our mission, that we build collaborative frameworks with diverse stakeholders, and that we deepen our initiatives.

FinCity.Tokyo, as a hub for public-private collaboration, will work with you to enhance the city’s appeal and project it to the world.
